From the basement, I hear the pitter patter of little footprints running across the house. A few seconds later, down the stairs appears a pantsless, poopy bottom toddler. (Don't worry, she did have a pull up on). She proudly hands me an empty wallet, (mine), and was so excited to show me how she pulled every last thing out of it. (I was not so thrilled to see it as she was to show it to me) I take her back up the stairs, change her poopy bum, clean up her mess (with antibacterial stuff all over her bed and floor, don't tell Dora, my chapstick all over her cute little face, and my debit/credit cards, receipts, gift cards, etc everywhere). I told her how dissappointed I was that she was not sleeping, and that she made a mess of my purse, then I laid her down and told her to go to sleep and left the room. I stood outside the door for a few seconds to see if she would get up again, (which she did) or lay down and sleep. She got up and was talking to herself so I opened the door. Before I could say anything she said "Mommy, that hurt my heart". I asked "What hurt your heart, honey?" "It hurt my heart that you got mad at me and left and closed the door." I said "I am sorry I hurt your heart, let me sing you a song and rock you and then I will lay you down to take a nap, ok?" "Ok, mommy" So I did, she is sleeping, and I had to share with you her cuteness...

It's Time

It's time

That phrase rings true in so many different aspects of my life right now. And variations of that short phrase ring just as true. It's about time. It's way passed due time. It's a hard time...just to name a few.

It's time: Starting with the first one, it's time. It's time for an update. It's time to let you all know how I am and have been doing. That would take a very VERY long time, so I will paraphrase; We're good.

It's about time: It's about time my husband gets on at the plant. It's his goal and he has been doing so much for everyone else and deserves something for himself. Is that fair, to say he deserves anything? Because I think he does, but then I am not God. So who am I know say anyone deserves anything. We are already given so much, how can I say I deserve anything more. Well, I think he deserves it because of who he is and everything he does.

It's way passed due time: It's passed due time we find a place of our own. I love Brian's mom but I love my own space, time, life, and kitchen. We have been so blessed to have had her put up with us for this long, but I don't want to burden her anymore.

It's a hard time: It's a hard time to stay positive and know that everything is going to be ok. The economy being so bad doesn't help the situation any, but everyone is in the same predicament, so I am not complaining, just venting a little I guess. My sister used to vent, which I thought was a little tacky until I read the responses she received and realized how uplifting and encouraging her friends and family were.

Anyway, sorry this post is a negative, not very uplifting or interesting read, but I just wanted to let you all know I am still alive.

And, in case you didn't know, I am pregnant. Due July 23rd. Not sure what he/she is yet, but I will find out next month. BUT, I do know it's alive. So, that's good enough for me at this point! Oh, and I am done with student teaching. WOOT!

Sissy's Song

Kierra started it all. I was looking through pictures she posted while she was watching my sisters kids and they are all cute, and growing big, and look just like their mom and dad. Most of all, they all remind me so much of Ashleigh. Then after I finished looking through those pictures, my husband, for some reason, decided to play this song. He loves sitting and listening to music, he will do nothing else, just sit and listen, and go through song, after song, after song. He was sitting at the computer desk listening to music and he played Sissy's Song. I am not sure why he played this specific song, or if he even knew that I was thinking about my sister and her family, but he played it and I couldn't stop thinking about her and all the memories leading up to her passing away. He also played Sarah Beth, which reminded me of when Ashleigh was so worried about losing her beautiful blond hair, asking for cute hats and wigs. Anyway, I was dancing with Ryah in my arms, listening to the words of these songs, thinking of Ashleigh, and I started to cry. As I did, Ryah hugged me tighter and after a few minutes of tears, Ryah looks up, grabs my face in her gentle hands, and kisses my tears away. First she kissed the tears one cheek, then kissed the other cheek, then said "Don't be sad mommy, be happy. I kiss the tears away" (which made me cry even harder) then she looked down at my shirt and saw that some tears had fallen onto my shoulder and said "I get down mommy, I wanna get my blanket." So I let her down and she goes and gets her blanket. She comes back and says, "Mommy, I wipe away your tears" and wipes my cheeks with her blanket, then says, as she puts the blanket to my nose, "blow your nose mommy". Of course this all made me cry even harder being around such sweet innocence, love, and tenderheartedness. I love my husband so much for playing that song and reminding me of my sister, I always love the times when her memory pops into my head so randomly. He also played a song for me that reminded him of his dad and I was greatful to share such a beautiful, special moment with him and my baby girl. I love you both so very very much and am greatful for every moment we share together. Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and best friend, and thank you Ryah for being such a kind, loving, selfless, daughter.

Ryah: The monsters come in

Me: What monsters

Ryah: They're jump jump jumping

Me: Where?Ryah: There's a mouse, he's squished.

Me: Oh, no! Did the monsters squish the mouse?

Ryah: The mouse is sad

Me: He is?

Ryah: The mouse is happy mouse now.

Me: The mouse is happy? Is he ok?

Ryah: Yeah, he threw out the monsters!

Me: He did!?!? That's great!

Ryah: He has strong muscles.

Me: Yeah, he must have strong muscles if he can throw the monsters out!

Ryah: Broke my heart.

Me: It broke your heart?Ryah: The mouse broke me. He threw me

Me: The mouse threw you?

Ryah: Yeah, and I crash.

Me: Oh, no! Are you ok?

Ryah: He threw me in the water and I splash.

-And then she broke out into an awesome song singing about all the things she did today including reading four Eric Carl book that she LOVED. Some of her song went like this...

I can't remember it all. I wish I had a tape recorder in her room so I could just record everything she said. I love my smart little girl!

I read "The Very Hungry Catipillar" by Eric Carl to her and asked her to retell the story back to me and she remembered everything from the little egg, to eating the plums, and oranges, and strawberries, and pears, to going from little catipillar to a big fat catipillar and building a home (she forgot the word, a cacoon) and becoming a butterfly!

Ryah has quite the imagination. I rock her to bed every night and usually we sing a few songs, I lay her down, rub her tummy while we sing ABC's and count to 25 but tonight was special. Tonight started something that I hope I can make into a "Story of the Day".

So, here it goes.

Ryah: The dinosaur stole my couch.
Me: He did? Where did he take it?
Ryah: To the giant.
Me: What giant?
Ryah: The giant puffer.
Me: The giant puffer? What did he look like?
Ryah: He was red. And he had a blue tongue.
Me: A blue tongue? That is a scary monster.
Ryah: Yeah, and the rain turns him blue.
Me: Really? What does he sound like?
Ryah: "Rroooaaarrrr!!!"
Me: Woah, that sounds scary.
Ryah: Yeah, he scared pooh. He wants to go home.
Me: He does? Is he ok now?
Ryah: Yeah.
Me: Oh good.
Ryah: The monster wants to get in.
Me: He does? I will protect you. Are you scared?

Here is a fun pose I copied from a couple who copied it from a magazine. It was a cute pose and I just figured I would try it to be fun.

I wanted to try to get a cute, original, pic and I saw a friends pic with all their shoes so I figured I would try it too. We all realy like skater shoes and Ryah's Uncle David got her these for her birthday, she wouldn't take them off for a couple of hours...even though it was almose 100 degrees outside.

We had the option to do a few different outfits. We all look ok in yellow and pink but not all of use had those colors so we did yellow and brown, and pink and white. We did the shoot in two separate places, an old railway shack thingy and a rundown catholic church. Anyway, I just love my little family.

Ryah turned two a day after the shoot and so we took a few pics of just her. She did so good and is so cute.

There was a random blue window and I thought it would be a cool background for a picture.

It's been a while...
This week has been one of the better of the last couple of weeks recently experienced.
Monday to start was one of the best Monday's I have had. Brian started his new job and is doing so well and loving staying busy and feeling needed. Ryah and I woke up, ate breakfast outside as we pointed out all the birds, geckos, leaves and flowers, and had some really meaningful and enjoyable mommy daughter time. Later, she went to play with Aunt Beth and her favorite cousin Pace while I filled out paperwork for the first offer on our house (and hopefully the last). Thanks again Beth for watching Ryah. We hung out at the park as we usually do, and when daddy came home from work, we made cookies for family night, (which all of us had our fair share of cookie dough) we were laughing, having a good time, and I really remember that night for some reason.
Tuesday wasn't any less eventful or enjoyable...we woke up, ate breakfast outside again, went to a kids boutique where they sell lightly used clothes, toys and other things, where I originally went to buy Ryah some flip flops since hers are all getting to small or worn, and ended up buying her a new swimsuit and two shirts instead. Janae called and said "Kyra needs a friend, come over", so Ryah played at with Kyra, her other favorite cousin (she has lots of favorites) where they played, sat at the big girl table (really a small table for kids) and ate spagetti (what a fun time we had, thanks Janae). When daddy got home from work we ate dinner together, and I spent a few hours with my Dad at a Cieaura meeting, which I am very excited about for them.
Today, again, no less eventful, we went to the library for story time. I was so proud of Ryah because she was STILL!!! That is not a common occurance for this ultra curious little girl. However, she sat still, listened, participated, and really enjoyed herself, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching her. After story time, (which by the way, Ryah made a few new friends, Azlyn (sp) and John, both a year older than her), we went to McDonalds and got an ice cream cone to take home and share, and we did. We came home, got our swim suits on, went to the park and played in the water while we shared our ice cream cone and made footprints on the sidewalk with our wet hands and feet. Daddy got home, we ate dinner, went on a walk and Ryah went number one AND number two in the potty, all by herself without coaxing or reminders to do so. She is getting so big.
Tomorrow will be no less eventful than the rest of this week. We will start our morning off going to kids day out at Superstition mall (hopefully with some of Ryahs other favorite cousins.) We are going to a softball game of a neighbor who used to live accross the street and her two daughters were Ryahs favorite girls. They would come over and play anything from tumbling, to dolls, to Wii, to making cookies. We are excited to support you Syd, good luck! Who knows what the rest of this week will hold, but whatever it is, I am really loving life and appreciating every small moment I get to spend with the two people I love the very most! I love you big baby and little baby!

Oh, and a few funny things Ryah does...

Where do kids learn these things...Ryah took a few petals from the boganvilla (sp) plant outside and brought them inside and started coloring on the wall with them.

Just watched my sweet one year old love on her doll, change her diaper, and say "wipe her bum, no poopies", she then threw away the wipe that she wiped her dolls bum with, and put her diaper back on. After taking care of her comfort needs, she held her doll close as she said "you want me to hold you? Ok, I hold you" and... sang twinkle twinkle little star, while she kissed her nose.

I have had a couple of incredible moments these last few days that have really helped me grow as a person. I have achieved things I never thought possible, and I have accomplished goals I never knew I had.

I ran the Ragnar Relay last weekend with a group of girls I didn't know one thing about except for my friend Brooke, who was my sisters age, and also my YCL when I was a 4th year at girls camp. She told me less than two weeks before the Ragnar relay that her Ragnar team was a girl short and wondered if I wanted to run the relay with them. Of course I wanted to since my goal is to run as often as I can and to remember Ashleigh every time I run. So I did. Luckily I was given the easiest leg and only ran about 15 miles, downhill with little up hill running. Even though it was the easiest leg, it was still a challenge for me, and I was inspired and amazed by all of the other girls on my team who were able to go completely out of their comfort zone, and run extreme hills, or long distances, or late or early hours, and never once did they complain and they enjoyed every moment of being challenged. They inspired me because I know now that I can do anything I put my mind to, and just as they trained to be able to run their legs, I too will train to run hills, long distances, and any other challenge in my life, I can overcome. Brooke inspired me also because she started for herself, but she finished for her husband, just as I do for Ashleigh.

Thanks for the opportunity gForce for letting me be a part of your relay. Thanks Ashleigh for being with me every step of the way. And thanks girls for the inspiration and motivation to keep going, no matter how difficult the next few steps may seem. You really gave me an incredible experience that I will never forget!

I had an amazing experience these last couple of weeks. My sister Ashleigh passed away from colon cancer a few months ago and since then I have been trying to find a way to commemorate and honor her. I did that by choosing a goal that I have been trying to reach and sticking with that goal because thats what Ashleigh would do. Ashliegh was the kind of person that could accomplish anything she put her mind to, thats just who she was, she was a go-getter, and I wanted to be just like her! So this year I set a new years resolution and I made it. Actually, circumstanced permitted me to reach my goal much earlier than anticipated because I was going to allow myself a little more time to train but I am so glad I did it!

Now let me backtrack a bit...

Race day was today. It was 8:09 in the morning. I for some strange reason thought I had 20 more minuets to prepare myself for this race but as I was walking to the starting line, I was a couple yards off when I heard the announcer say "And the 10k starts, NOW". Wait, now? Crap! I scrambled to get my race number, my "champion chip", my water bottle, shades, car key, and my Ipod situated as I stumbled through the starting line...the last one through. Who really wants to be the last one through...

As I continued running I continuously passed people on the right and the left, through the mud and bumpy terrain. I was feeling good as I ran faster than most but still in the back of the pack. Every person was just another stepping stone towards the finish line for me and I was feeling great...

Then as I started slowing down and I realized I was only 2 miles into the run. In a disgruntled voice I murmured, "I have 4+ more miles to go?" I realized then that I needed to better pace myself...so I did. I started running a little slower and just as I did, I felt goosebumps, not from being cold, but from a source of strength within me that pushed me to continue my pace as before, not slowing down.

This happened various times during my run and I know these were the times that Ashleigh was with me, pushing me along, telling me its ok to run and not be weary. As I thought of her I drew strength to press forward and just when I felt ready to slow down again, I saw the finish line. At this point I pushed myself harder than I had the entire race and I didnt even feel tired.

FINISH! I had crossed the finish line! Immediately I began to feel affects of a poor prerace day diet, and a lack of nutritious prerace morning breakfast, but that didnt matter. I had finished, Ashleigh was with me, and I DID IT!

-I saw a couple running together, just ahead of me, right before the finish line. The husband had his hand on his wifes back, gently pressing her forward, pushing her. I felt that is what Ashleigh was doing for me.

Potty Training

So, my little girl would probably kill me if she knew I put this on here (Brian probably would too) but Ryah is getting so big and growing up so fast. She has shown signs of being interested in potty training and seems to be interested in going in the potty but every time I put her on the pot to go, she just sits there, hangs out, and doesnt go, and then I put her diaper back on and she goes in it instead. I got a few good suggestions from friends to give her candy when she goes, get a singing toilet so it sings when she goes, make a big deal when she goes, but those are all "after she goes" tips, I need tips on getting her to go in the first place. One friend of mine mentioned to get a potty watch that goes off every 30 mins and when it goes off, its time to go sit on the potty. I will try that and see how that goes and if it works, Steve, you are a genius! Anyway, wish me luck, I don't know if an 18 month old can be potty trained but its worth a try. However, does anyone know if it is bad to start too soon, if that would cause them to rebel or anything that would cause them to not be trained as well/soon/young/fast/ effectively?

Tiny Mouths and Helpless Victims

This is what happens when you let your curious ambitious one year old alone for a few seconds. She pushes a chair to the table, climbs on the chair, gets on the table, and takes tiny bites out of every piece of fruit in the fruit bowl. Orange peels, apple peels, banana peels galore on the floor but a happy belly and a smiling face looks up as a victorious feet has been accomplished after pushing a chair to the table, climbing on the chair, getting on the tables, and taking tiny bites out of every piece of fruit in the fruit bowl! Gotta love them kiddos!

My Little Angel

I have the sweetest angel baby in the world. I went to FHE with my family and I left Ryah home with Brian because she wasn't feeling well. She had thrown up just before we were supposed to leave so Brian got everything cleaned up and hung out at home with her while I went to family home evening with my family. I had a really good time but couldn't help but to continuously think about my poor, sick little girl, so I decided to come home and put her to bed myself. As I walked in the front door, she was standing in front of the TV and she turned around to see me come in the door. I bent down as she ran herself into my arms and gave her a big hug. After I gave her a shower I got her dressed and ready for bed. As I did this, she grabbed my head, just above my ears, with both hands, and bent my head down so she could kiss me on the forehead. If thats not cute enough, get this...I rocked her to sleep while singing "I am a Child of God", one of our favorite night time songs and during my singing to her, she looks up at me and says, "I yuh yoo". Do I not have the sweetest angel baby in the world or what?

This is how poor little Ryah looks when she has a 104 degree temperature. She was like this for a full day, just so cuddly and lovable. It almost makes me miss when she is sick but I am SO glad she is better.

You are so lucky because I am updating my blog twice in one week! Wahoo! Ok, so I am a little over zealous and you probably could care less whether I updated or not, but I have some time and a computer so I figure why not! =)

Ryah has had some interesting things happen the last few days...
If you didnt see my facebook status...it said something like this..."

A trip to the Urgent Care, a sapository, a shot, and a 75 dollar co-pay later and she is finally asleep."

And all that has nothing to do with these cute pics.
Ryah is holding an ice pack to keep her burns cold. The glove is also part of this story
And so is the sock on her hand.
You intrigued yet? Here is the story...

Sunday Ryah decided to climb up on the stove by putting one foot on the drawer under the oven and both hands on the oven door handle and she pulled herself up so her head popped up just above the stove top. I was cooking on the stove top so it was bright orange. That seemed to intrigue her to the point where she felt she needed to touch the bright orange-ness. Everytime I tell her, "hot" she usually listens and stays away, but this time she put her hand right on top of it and she felt the "hot" that I was referring to. So,

She has A&D ointment on all four fingers, a band aid on each finger to keep the ointment on, a little mit to keep her from pulling the band aids off, and a wet sock to keep it cold. Is there a better remedy for burning fingertips on a bright orange burner, as hot as hot can be?

And that has nothing to do with the visit to urgent care...104 degree temperature is no good temp for a baby. She is much better now though, hand and head are doing fine!

Well, I am sort of begrudgingly updating my blog. I have somewhat avoided doing this partially because the last few months have been extremely busy and I just haven't had the chance, and partially because my sister Ashleigh is usually the only one, or one of the only ones that ever really reads and comments on it and she is not here to do that anymore, and that makes me sad. I probably still wouldn't be updating my blog if it weren't for my little girl. She was taken to the urgent care last night with a 104 degree temperature and is still feeling the effects of whatever is plaguing her body. She is crying, not wanting to be held, not wanting to be rocked, not wanting to do anything but fuss, cry, and be alone, so that is what she is doing; fussing, crying, and being alone. This doesn't permit much sleep on my part, hence the long overdue blog update...finally. There has been much going on in the last few months, from out of state visits to Utah, funerals, visiting with family, in state but hours from the valley visits to Brians moms and from Brians mom, more out of state visits to Disneyland for Halloween, working from home, working at the gym, sick baby, to sick momma, to baking, cooking, cleaning and much, much more. You name it, I have probably done it in the last few months. Some of it was fun, some of it was not, but still, some of it was very time consuming and tiring and I am ready for the holidays to come, because I love the season, I love the feeling of closeness, I love the feeling of everybody is happy, just for a little bit, all at the same time, whether they really want to be or not, this season doesn't really give them a choice but to be happy. I love watching the Christmas movies with my hubby, cuddling up with him, eating our dinner, drinking hot chocolate, and talking about how these movies make us closer everytime we watch them. I don't know why but I am missing Ashleigh today for some reason, more than usual, and just wanted to post a little thought about her so we can all think of her. I love you Ashleigh and really wish you were here to help me know how to help my sick, sleepless, baby because you were always there for those little times when I needed a little extra help or advice from someone who has gone through it herself, not only once, but four times. I love you sis.
Anyway, I don't really know what got me started on my pointless rambling but I guess that is what happens whey I dont update my blog for so long. Anyway, thanks for reading, sorry I jumped from subject to subject with no real destination, but that is kind of how my brain works at night...well always actually. It is a wonder I ever got any homework done.

With recent happenings in my life and in my family I realize the lasts are just as important if not more so than the firsts and we can never take anything for granted. Please please PLEASE remember how precious, short, and miraculous this life, and every given day, is. I can't imagine not having my little angel to hold one more time, or to kiss me, or to say sorry for throwing tantrums, or to bark like a dog when she hears a dog, or to help me move the chairs out of the kitchen so I can sweep, or to grab my finger to help her walk across the beam and jump on the trampoline, or to throw food on the floor so she can say "uh oh" and make me pick it up, just to do it again, or to dance with Pooh, who is bigger than she is, because she knows how it makes her feel when momma and daddy dance with her, or to make messes, or to help clean the appliances with a rag because she sees momma do it, or to walk around the house jabbering on her phone, laughing as though she is having a conversation with someone and they just said something funny, or to only cuddle with you when she is sick, which makes her being sick so much more bearable, or any of the other lasts that will happen in her life, along with all of her firsts.

I love you so much little Ryah and I hope that your daddy can see why I don't get everything in the house clean, dinner made, and laundry done somedays because I would rather take that time to spend playing, reading, dancing, laughing, with you, chasing you around the house, and cleaning up your messes, because that is what really makes me happy.

Ryah has given us a few scares in the last couple of months, I just wanted to share a few with you...

That is just a sneak peak. Don't worry, she is ok! Haha! Brian was watching her while I was at work and she was just hanging out in her room playing. Well, Brian heard her fuss, just a little, not a cry, more like a, "Hey, I am stuck" fuss. Well, she was, but he didn't know. He thought she just wanted Brian to come get her, so he called out to her "come out here Ryah". She didn't say anything for a min or two, then a little louder she did the same sound. "Come out here Ryah" Brian said. When she didnt show up or make any other sounds, he got up and went to go find out what that silly little girl was doing...

Don't ask how she did this. She didn't start crying till she saw Brian. Poor girl just wanted a little help getting out of a sticky predicament! I LOVE THIS GIRL!!! HAHA

Some real scary things she has done though is she lOVES blueberries and grapes. Every once in a while she would get too many in her mouth and choke, not cough and gurgle, but get some lodged in her throat and not be able to breath in or out or cough. The only way I knew is because I was sitting right next to her and felt a little hand on my leg and looked over to see this look of TERROR on her poor pretty little face and it took 0.01 seconds for me to figure out she was choking and I stuck my finger down her throat and pushed it down further till she swallowed it all on her own. A little scary but we both survived!

Another time I went swimming with some friends in my friends back yard and Ryah was walking around the pool on the pool deck. She loves walking anywhere and everywhere. My friends little four year old boy dropped his floaty in the pool and was trying to reach it. I was in the pool and didn't want him to fall in so I pushed it over to him. I was watching little ryah walk around the pool and the second I took my eyes off her to push the noodle over to the boy (a process that took less than 1 second) she had slipped and fallen in and was face down in the pool. WATCH YOUR KIDS AROUND WATER!!! Luckilly I was anticipating her getting too close (and was originally planning on being right there if she DID decide to jump/fall in) but the second I took my eyes off her was the second she fell in. I was only about 2 seconds away from her and she was only under water for those two seconds, and I grabbed her, brought her above water, and gave her a hug, wiped the water from her face and nose, and she hugged me again and was just fine...walking around the pool on the pool deck once again. (Dont worry, this time I was right by her side).

Ryah has fallen on her face a few times, bled a few times, smashed her poor little pinkey till her nail died and fell off, and fallen off her share of high objects, but the one that probably scared us the mose is when she fell off the table. She is not a sit-still-er. A still sitter. A person that sits very still...at all...ever...and I had her on top of the table in the living room, (I moved the dining room table and chairs so I could sweep and mop the kitchen) and she was sitting in her little chair eating some lunch...cheese, grapes, something of that sort. Well, as I was sweeping, she had scooted herself backwards by pushing on her heels until she moved back, and further back, and further back, and right off the edge of the table. I promptly knew exactly what had happened and I dropped the broom and ran over to her. She cried of course but as soon as I picked her up, we danced and sang and I rubbed her poor back, (which later had a bruise from where it hit the back of the chair she was sitting in) and she was just fine after that.

Here are a few other fun Ryah moments...I LOVE YOU GIRL!

Goes to get her shoes out of her closet in her room when we say "you wanna go outide?"
Takes the keys out of the bowl on the table and tries to put them in the door

When we read a book, if she gets to a familiar page, she will mimick hand gestures or words
Says Amen and folds her arms
Wipes her nose with tissues or wipes
Picks everything off the floor and hands it to you (she learned that from daddy, he is a clean freak)
If she sees me wiping down the appliances or mopping the floor she will insist that she has a towel to do it herself
If she is holding a stuffed animal and I say "rock the baby" she will grab it with both arms and rock it back and forth
Bring a small ball to you and turn around and back up so she can sit down on it and bounce

If I have her in the shower, she will stick her tongue out and try to catch water on it

Runs away screaming and laughing when we say "Im gonna get you!!!" (so cute)

Knocks on the wall when we put her in her crib (this freaked us out the first time she did this because we had no idea she was awake and all the sudden we heard knocking and scared us to death)
Runs back and forth in her crib
Loves sleeping with all her stuffed animals all over her and her favorite, her bunny, on her face
Loves pointing to pictures of family and having me tell her who it is...if it is her, she will point to herself
Knocks on doors, rings door bells, turns on and off lights and anything else that turns off and on

When I put her down for a nap, she will spend sometimes an hour in there just playing and talking and I go to peek my head in to see what she is doing and she will hurry and lay down again like she is sleeping so I don't see she is awake!
When I get her up in the morning she always has so much to say.
I ask her to go sit down in her chair so we can eat and she will take the tray off, sit down, and try to put the tray on, then she will sign food.
Drinks bath water (not very funny, actually kind of gross, but what can I do)
Hits her chest and howls like Tarzan
Puts on different shoes becasue she can't decide on which one to wear
Puts my phone in her shirt because thats what mommy does
Walks backwards towards a little can we have sitting on the floor until she feels it behind her legs and then sits down on it. Sometimes she will go grab a book and "read" it while on the can.
Get toilet paper off the holder and hand it to me and as I do my business she will wave her hand in front of her nose and say..."Whew wee" (stinky mom!

Hello everyone. Ashley and Jake are my cousins and they are such an uplifting couple to me and my family and I wanted to share something with all of you that will hopefully touch you as much as they have touched me.

If you visit their blog, you will get a little bit of information about their family but I want you to focus on little Ryan. There are a few links to the right of their blog that you can get a little more information about him but what I wanted you to read is below. It is also the most recent post on her blog.

Attention all friends and family! I know this is short notice but I have been working a lot lately on special ways we can honor Ryan on his birthday coming up and after talking with the Assistant Nurse Manager of the NICU at UWMC the past few days she said the best and most useful way would be to donate fleece baby blankets and preemie layette's. I have a special plan for embroidering four blankets to be given to families in need representing the four days we had with Ryan with a special word embroidered representing the four main precious things he taught us : hope, strength, love and courage! Each blanket will come with Ryan's story.

I thought I would let family and friends know that if they wanted to celebrate Ryan's birthday with us by honoring him and serving another family they could bring by (or mail us) a fleece baby blanket, they prefer fleece because it keeps the preemies warmer outside the incubator, or a preemie layette that families will be a able to choose from for their babies, to our home before August 17th (before noon). We will be at UWMC the 17th in the late afternoon for my OB appointment and will distribute these gifts to the NICU then to be distributed on August 21, 22, 23 and 24... the four days of Heaven we call them, the four days we had with him. SO we love this and think it's a great way to honor Ryan and help other families. Hope you do too. Thank you!! Let me know if you have any questions :)

A few fun things we have been up to

I started my gymnastics class, if your kids aren't in them, they are missing out! =) We have so much fun, here we all are stretching.
This bottle was full before she decided to dump it all out.
I handed her a rag and told her to clean up her mess and she did. What a smarty pants!
Opening and closing doors, drawers, and anything else is her new favorite thing.

Ryah learned that if she pushes the button on my camera, the flash flashes, so she took a bunch of random pictures of random things. This was one of them...I just had to post it cause she is so darn cute! Another picture Ryah took. Not sure where she gets her stellar picture taking skills!

We went to Basha pool today with little Kyra and Janae. It was so much fun! The girls couldn't stay out of the water no matter what! These are the only pics I could get because the second I left Ryahs side, she was knee deep in the water and I had to grab her before she fell in. The first three are just in my neighbors house but I wanted to show her super cute swim suit.

And this is my hilarious daughter. She holds the phone to her ear and walks around jabberin like she is talking to someone on the other end. SO CUTE! and so smart.

Hello again everyone. Sorry for not giving any updates, I have been waiting for the paperwork to give to all of you from a friend of mine who is also doing this out her home. She went out of town a month ago and was expected to be back already but got stuck and will not return for a few weeks. Anyway, I really want to get this started so I am willing to give you all a deal.

July is FREE!

That's right, you heard it. I will start the classes on the 22 and the last two weeks of July will be free. The $35 dollar non-refundable fee will still be due on the first day of class please.

Ok, I know it is probably not the BEST idea to take pictures in church but you know me, the picture queen, or picture freak as some people like to call me, and I just happened to have my camera with me at church and HAD to take this super CUTE picture of little Ryah sitting so...stil!!! in her chair in nursery. I was asked to sub (Eric, you're my hero) and it was interesting to see how well she interacted with some of the other kids her age. She did really well, she would share her toys and snacks, and when she wanted something and started going for it while another kid was playing with it, she would stop if I asked her to stop. And she was SO sweet with a little stuffed puppy. She LOVES dogs and barks every time she sees or hears one and when she saw this one she did the same thing. Then she picked it up, cradled it in her arms, and rocked the puppy and kept kissing it on the nose. SO CUTE! What a SMART little girl!

Here is one of the outfits Janet got Ryah for her birthday! So cute. Thanks Janet. She wore the Red white and blue Osh Kosh outfit for the fourth. It was a little small but just big enough to wear on that special day! And the dress you see in the nursery pics is the one you sent her. If it werent for you she would be naked! Thanks Janet! You rock!

And here are the cute little socks you got her. She kept trying to put them on herself and just couldn't quite do it so I helped a little! Ok, a lot!

Tumbling Classes

Hello everyone. I am starting some tumbling classes out of my house next month (July). I know the summer is hot and it is nice to get the kids indoors and cool down and what better way to do this than being inside, playing with other kids, learning new skills, becoming more flexible, strong, coordinated, and social. Below is all the information and a phone number that you can contact me with.

There will be a $35.00 one time/non refundable registration fee. I will start out with one day (Monday) with six kids maximum. Then I will start adding classes as they fill up.

So if you are interested please let me know ASAP. Classes will fill up fast. I have a few spots already filled. Pass the word along to your friends and family. I am excited to teach your children and have fun with them too. They are so fun at this age.

Let me know soon if you are interested so I can provide you with a Registration Packet.
Don't hesitate to ask questions too.

Summer time has finally come and kids are stuck inside at home.
Don’t let them get bored in doors, come and join the tumbling world.
We’ll stretch, bend, dance and play and have fun in a creative way.
Bring your kids, have fun each day, and let me help them grow and play.

Parent-Tot Tumbling Classes (age 1.5-3 years) Wed. 4-5pm
•This class does basic stretches, balancing exercises, strength exercises, and learns to play and share with others.

Preschool Tumbling Classes (age 3-5 years) Wed. 5-6pm
•This class does basic stretches, balancing exercises, strength exercises, and basic tumbling skills.

Novice Tumbling Classes (age 5-10 years) Wed. 6-7pm
•This class does all of the above skills and exercises but at a higher skill level.

$25 a month for one child $20 each child a month for two or more children

Her new birthday suit! Hhaha, not really birthday suit but her birthday gift swimsuit!

Ryah and I were playing. She is SO SMART! I ask her "where's your belly button?" and she squeezes her belly. Then I ask her, "where's your eyes/ears/nose/tounge/chin/etc?" and she points to each of those things either on her, or if I say where's momma's eyes/nose, etc she points to those on me! I asked her "wheres your tounge?" and this is what she did. Some other things she does is when I say "what does a doggy/horse/pig say" and she barks like a dog, snorts (really snorts) like a pig, and neighs like a horse! I can't believe how smart she is.
She has weined herself. This is the face she makes everytime I tried to feed her. It has been three days now and I am a litte bigger than usual, if you know what I mean.
Here is the toy momma and daddy got her for her birthday. She loves it.
She is such a big girl!

So I have been away for a while. Well I haven't been away, my laptop has. Ryah was typing daddy a note telling him good morning and got a little over-excited and pulled a few keys off. However, after replacing the keyboard with a brand spankin new (used) keyboard, it's quieter and better this way. So...here is what we have been doing for the last few weeks.

She loves to drink the water in the bath. I use a cup to rinse her off with but she kept filling it up with bath water and drinking from it and I didn't want her to do that anymore so I took it away so this is what she does now. I guess its better that drinking dirty bath water.

We had Kyra and Noah over the other day and I was feeding ryah and Kyra wanted in on the action so she tried to pull herself up and start eating. She almost tipped Ryah over on top of her! It was funny.

There was a little girl there who kept following Ryah and Kyra around and wanting to hold them. It was cute at first but then we got a little nervous when she kept trying to hold them. She was cute though. Nice.
She liked to crawl around in the water and would challeng herself (and her momma) to see how far she could go without drowning. The fountains were one of her favorite places.

U-Pick Peaches

Peach Festival Fun!!! Danielle and I went to the Peach Festival at Schnepf Farms with little Ryah and Calan. It was hot but we had so much fun pickin our own peaches! They were so juicy that the juice was drippin down our arms! MMMMmmmm...I think his tractors sexy

On the Hay ride. I filled her hat with water and wrung (is that how you spell it?) it out and put it back on her head. I think that kept her cool.

This is so cute. We were on our way home from a long fun Easter Day with family and Ryah was pooped. Hey all, this paragraph explains Ryah pretty accuratly. So, next time you think "Oh, she doesn't like me" or "she wont go to anyone but her mom"...this explains why. So, don't get offended or think she doesn't like you, that's silly, she is a baby, she is just shy.

I was on a walk with my little Ryah in her stroller and making a phone call...as I was looking at my phone to dial a number the stroller got stopped by something and I heard Ryah cry out. I didn't know what happened until I looked down and saw her laying face down on the pavement. She had wriggled her way out of the stroller (she was sitting straight up just literally two seconds earlier) and landed face first on the pavement, banged her nose, skinned her lips and chin, and chipped her tooth. She had tiny rock pieces in her lips and a bloody nose and lips. She cried for about 15.5 seconds, hugged me, and then we walked the rest of the way home (which we had only made it about halfway, and now had the other half to trek home injured). Then when we got close to home she allowed me to take a picture of her first major injury and was nice enough to smile for me while doing it. What an amazing child...and so tough.

And for all those of you who think Ryah is a mommas girl (which for the most part she is) she has her moments. She likes everyone, she just takes a little time to warm up to you...so be patient, she too will love you.

So I just got done feeding Ryah and was watching the news and there was a band playing one of their songs and looked at the tv and started dancing. When she was done, I took her out of her chair and let her crawl around. Another song came on the tv, probably from a commercial, and she looked at the tv again and started dancing again. So I changed it to one of the music channels and turned it up and she looked at the tv again and started dancing again!!! What an adorable little girl...she is so cute and SO big! =)

I watched my niece Kyra today. I was a little apprehensive about watching both of them by myself but they both did so good. It was a good day!
I was dancing with Ryah and Kyra wanted in on the action so I picked them both up and we danced to the music!
Kyra is getting so big, she is holding her own bottle.
Ryah is getting so big too, she wanted to push little Kyra. What a good big cousin! Oh, and if you are wondering why the legs to her jammies are tied behind her bum its because we were on the tile earlier and when I left the kitchen (where the tile is) and went back to check on Kyra, Ryah followed me. Anyway, she slips on the tile when she tries to pull herself up to stand up, so I tied the legs of her jammies behind her. Then she came into the room where Kyra and I were and was playing with us there and I never put them down...looks kind of funny now that I see it in a picture. =)
